Patricia Ann Saale, age 88, formerly of Alton, Illinois, passed away on May 22, 2024, at  Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville, Illinois.

She was born on March 17, 1936, in Roxana, Illinois to August and Mary (Jaros) Astroth.

Patricia was a graduate of Marquette Catholic High School in 1954.

She married Carl Felix Saale on October 9, 1954, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Carl passed away on April 16, 2008.

Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family and playing pinochle.

She was an avid all-around sports fan, from high school to professional athletics.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Barbara (Jeffrey) Mourlam of Roeland Park, KS. And Dr. Mary Saale (William Croxton) of St. Louis, MO., 3 sons; Dr. Thomas (Cheryl) Saale of Franklin, TN, Dr. Daniel Saale of Dublin, OH and Ronald (Karen) Saale of Godfrey, IL., daughter in law; Jane Saale of Brighton, IL.

Patricia was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Stephen G. Saale, infant son; William Saale,  brothers and sisters; Lavere “Liz” Astroth, Joe Astroth, Margaret Schulz, Robert Astroth and Richard Astroth, grandson; Grant Saale.

Mrs. Saale will lie in state from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm, Friday, May 24, 2024 at the chapel of Gent Funeral Home.

A mass of celebration will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Following the mass of celebration, she will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marquette Catholic High School or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
