Patricia “Pat” Whitford, 81 of St. Louis, MO and formerly of Granite City, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in St. Louis.
Pat was born on December 5, 1940, in Anna, IL; the daughter of the late George and Thelma (Phillips) Harris. Pat was an office clerk for over 54 years at Cohen Foods in Granite City. In her free time, Pat was well known for her love of reading romance novels and spending time with her family and she will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Pat is survived by and will be missed by her sister; Geri Fields of Granite City, IL; aunt, Avis Wells of Belgrade, MO; nieces, Celeste and Ed “Butch” McGlothin of St. Louis, MO, Georgia and Steve Brumit of St. Louis, MO, Lynn and Don Hansel of Winfield, MO; nephews, Ronald and Danna Fields of Fayetteville, AR, Jason Fields of Granite City, IL; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband; Paul Whitford, and her sister, Mary Stocks.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Pat’s life, services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Sharon Autenrieth officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
