Patricia Palumbo

Patricia Ann Palumbo, 78, died at 5:50 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis County, Missouri after a period of declining health.She was born in Jersey County on Oct. 22, 1932, the oldest child born to the late Hugh H. & Adah D. (Jones) Allen.She was raised in Jerseyville, and graduated from Jersey Community High School.  She married Patrick Palumbo on July 3, 1954 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and the two soon began their life together moving to Aurora where they would live for many years and raise their family.While in Aurora, she was employed as a trust officer for the Old Second National Bank where she was employed for 30 years.  After she & Pat both retired, they moved back to Jerseyville in 1998.She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Patrick Palumbo of Jerseyville; a son & daughter in law, Philip & Loyce Palumbo of Riverwoods, Il.; two daughters & a son in law,  Mary Elizabeth & Skip Podlogar of Racine, Wi., and Anne Christine Hoomanawanui of Normal; three grandchildren, Joseph, and his wife, Lindsay Palumbo of Chicago, Mary Margaret "Maggie" Hoomanawanui of Chicago, and Michael Hoomanawanui of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Thomas Allen of Edwardsville; and three sisters and brothers in law, Barbara Burge, Margaret & George Wittman, and Kathy & Jerry Wittman all of Jerseyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother in law, James Burge.Visitation will be from 9 a.m., until 10: 30 a.m,on Saturday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, with a Mass to immediately follow at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville.  Father Patrick Gibbons will officiate.Burial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the Jersey County Health Department.
