Patricia McNew

Patricia Ann McNew, 84, died at 2:42 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Cedarhurst Assisted Living in Godfrey. Born October 31, 1936 in Collinsville, she was the daughter of Theodore and Theresa 'Cecilia' (Scherperpeter) Deterding. Mrs. McNew was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. She worked as a supervisor for Bank of America. She worked for National Food Store and K-Mart Foods retiring from the Amalgamated Meat Cutters. On November 3, 1956 she married Donald Ray McNew in Collinsville. He survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Lori Nikonovich (Mike) of Brighton, a son, Donald R. McNew Jr. (Cindy) of Brighton, four grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Nikonovich, and Rachel and Tyler McNew, one great granddaughter, Gracie Ann Nikonovich, and one sister, Doris Falk of Collinsville. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Francis Cantrall and two brothers, Larry and Theodore Deterding. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Edwardsville. Father Steven Janoski will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
