Patricia “Pat” Ann McChristian, age 76 of Collinsville, IL, passed away at Anderson Hospital on Friday, June 10, 2022.
She was born on June 9, 1946 to the late Peter J. and Loretta K. (nee Blank) LaFrank. She met her husband, Jerry McChristian, in the 7th grade and they married on December 16, 1967.
Pat was an educator in the Collinsville Unit 10 School District for 36 years and has earned the Rotary Teacher of the Year award. She was the Collinsville Library Board President, former North Junior High Dance Team coach, member of St. John United Church of Christ and active in the Evening Circle, and past Learning Tree Preschool board member. She was a proud mother and grandmother and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sam LaFrank.
Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Jerry McChristian; three children: Tim (Katie Taplin) McChristian of DuQuoin, IL, Tom (Richelle) McChristian of Collinsville, IL, and Toni (Adam) Geisen of Maryville, IL; six grandchildren: Sam McChristian, Jacob, Peter and Sara McChristian, Jack and Luke Geisen; sister-in-law, Annette LaFrank of Maryville, IL; and two nieces: Lisa Bossetto and Amy LaFrank, both of Collinsville, IL.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at St. John United Church of Christ, 307 West Clay Street, Collinsville, IL.
A funeral service will follow at noon with Rev. Katie Joe Bielke officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Collinsville.
