Owen Bollinger

Grafton |

With hearts broken beyond measure, Owen William Bollinger, left this world far too soon on Friday, January 31, 2025. Cradled in the loving arms of his mother, Owen passed peacefully into the embrace of the angels, leaving behind a legacy of love in his short but profoundly meaningful time here on earth.

Born on October 20, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri, at 10:57 a.m., Owen arrived weighing 5 pounds, 2 oz. and measuring 17 inches long, a perfect miracle and precious gift from God. From the very beginning, he was a fighter, spending his first 20 days at Children’s Hospital, where he quickly captured the hearts of every nurse, doctor, and caregiver who had the privilege of caring for him.

Owen was the brightest light in his parents lives, their most beautiful blessing. He was always smiling, filling each day with joy and laughter. His infectious happiness made him a true celebrity in the hearts of those around him – everyone simply couldn’t get enough of him. Though his time here was brief, he made an unforgettable impact, touching more hearts than some do in a lifetime. He was just beginning to develop his own sweet and spirited personality, and the love he radiated will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is survived by his devoted parents, Kyle and Courtney (Walsh) Bollinger of Grafton; his loving grandmother, Barb Bollinger and her companion, Steve Shafer, of Grafton; great-grandparents, Marsha Senger of Grafton, Nancy Hauff of Grafton and Jesse and Judy Fletcher of Jerseyville; his adoring aunts and uncles, Joshua Walsh of Jerseyville, Ryan and Bryanna Bollinger of Dow and Alexis and Garrett Tepen of Grafton; his special adoptive uncle and aunt, Jeremy and Kayla Rulo of Grafton; numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles, all who will forever cherish their time spent with Owen. He was also deeply loved by his fur-siblings, Clyde, Reba and Gunner, who were never far from his side.

Welcoming him into Heaven with open arms are his dearly departed grandparents, Mark Walsh, Randall “Randy” Bollinger and Kim Bader; and great-grandparents, including William “Bill” Senger, whom Owen was named after. While their hearts are heavy, there is comfort in knowing he is surrounded by love, safe in the arms of those who went before him.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.–1 p.m, Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.

Following the burial, family and friends are invited to join the family at Kyle and Courtney’s home, 22100 Croxford Road, Grafton, IL 62037, for a meal and celebration of Owen’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to assist in the placement of a monument to honor Owen’s beautiful life and the love he brought into this world.

Though time with Owen was far too short, his love and light will never fade. His family will forever cherish the gift of the time they had with him, holding him in their hearts until they can hold him in their arms once again.

“Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.”
