Nyla A. Gallagher, 72, passed away at 11:35 pm, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at her residence, with family by her side.
She was born in Mt. Olive, IL on November 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Boyd and Anna (Saathof) Hughes.
She married Edward R. Gallagher on March 31, 1962 in Arkansas City, Kansas.
She was a Registered Medical Technologist for the Arkansas City Memorial Hospital before moving to Alton.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; one daughter, Kelly (Clayton) Arvidson of Lancaster, MA; one son, Brian (Melissa) Gallagher of Rolling Meadows, IL; twin granddaughters, Shannon and Kylie Arvidson; one grandson, Jackson Gallagher; one brother, Ray Hughes of Sorento, IL; and one sister, Delores Seketa of Green Castle, IN.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to the 5 A’s Animal Shelter.
