Norma Pruitt, 91, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011.
Born March 5, 1920 in Hillview, she was the youngest of 10 children born to William Curtis and Lora Adell (Schutz) Ford.
She married Fred. L. Pruitt, Jr. on Sept. 11, 1927 in Walkerville, Ill. He passed away Oct. 12, 1993.
The homemaker was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bethalto.
Surviving are a son and two daughters-in-law, Jim and Sharon Pruitt of Edwardsville and Margaret Pruitt of Collinsville; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie (Craig) Sandberg of Alton, Tim (Jana) Pruitt of Bethalto, David (Cristy) Pruitt of Mount Zion, Ill., and Mark (Melissa) Pruitt of Godfrey; two step grandchildren, Lynne (Jeff) Bradford and Kimberly (Denny) Noel, all of Sparta, Mich.; many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gordon L. Pruitt; five brothers, George, Norbert, Curtis, Lloyd and Wilson; and four sisters, Bertha, Nellie, Verna and Della.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.
Rev. Larry Rhodes will officiate services at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
