Norma P. Clary, 82, passed away at 7:35 am on Saturday July 23, 2011 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home with her family by her side.

She was born on October 28, 1928 in Santa Anna, CA the daughter of Clarence & Evelyn (Russell) Bland.

She married James Clary on June 3, 1961 in Alton. He survives.

She volunteered in the military hospital in San Francisco during WWII and then worked as beautician for more than 50 years.  She was and avid bowler and loved bingo and cooking.

She is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bill & Wanda Jones of Alton, two step children, Craig & Julie Clary of Alton, and Jamie & Melvin Stanley of Florida, a son and daughter-in-law, Guy & Amy Clary of Bethalto; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one sister, Dora Harrin of Forth Worth, TX.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne & Ralph Bland.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton where funeral service will be held at 10 am Wednesday July 27, 2011.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godrey.

Memorials may be directed to the 5A’s.
