Norma L. Duncan, 88, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2103 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. Born January 23, 1925 in Franklin, IL, she was the daughter of Dwight and Georgia (Lashmet) Seymour. Mrs. Duncan moved to The Fountains in Godfrey four years ago from her home in Carbondale. She was a 50 year member of the Easter Star and was a Worthy Matron. She was past Grand Guardian for Jobs Daughter. She married Harold Jewell. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1962. She married Kenneth Duncan. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2005. Surviving are two step-son, Ken Duncan (Jeannine) of Nashville, TN, and Roger Duncan of Belleville, two step grandchildren, Scott Duncan of Alton, and Jennifer Duncan of Dallas, TX, one step great grandchild, Tessa Duncan of Alton, one brother, Fred Seymour of Godfrey, a sister, Bette Clarkson of Godfrey, and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Keith, Charles, Harold and Gene Seymour, and a sister, Catherine Lawshe. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, IL.
