San Angelo, TX.--Norma J. Wieneke, 85, formerly of Wood River, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.
Born Jan. 28, 1931 in Alton, she was the daughter of John B. and Reba Louise (Blackard) Goble.
She married Olin L. Wieneke Apr. 2, 1949 in Alton. He preceded her in death Jan. 12, 1996.
Norma worked as a cashier for Wood River Township Hospital from 1965-1969. She later was secretary for the former St. Kevin Catholic Church and School in Rosewood Heights from 1985-2000. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Wood River VFW Post.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Merle) Jackson of East Alton and Donna (Douglas) Guthrie of San Angelo; two sons, Dennis Wieneke of East Alton and Jeffrey (Jenifer) Wieneke of Loveland, OH; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Oleta Wieneke of Alton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Goble; and a great grandson, Steven Olin Gutierrez, Jr.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Apr. 22 at Paynic Home for Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father James Flach at 10 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 23 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
