Norbert Richard “Reco” Riechmann, 75, died at 9:15 PM, Friday, March 1, 2013 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.
He was born in St. Louis, MO on July 3, 1937, and was son of Richard and Esther (Luecke) Riechmann.
He was employed as a Laborer for Laborers Local #218 for 39 years before his retirement in 1994. He married the former Barbara Motley on May 3, 1977 in Jerseyville and she survives.
“Reco” as he was lovingly referred by his friends and family, was an avid coon hunter and devoted much of his time this skill and loved each and every hunting expedition that he went on just as much as the first.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Riechmann of Carrollton; his mother, Esther Staples and her husband Gale of Carrollton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Telly Riechmann of Indiana and Dustin and Bethany Riechmann of Glen Carbon; a step-son and his wife Ryan and Mandi Motley of Brighton; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Darryl and Judy Riechmann and Richard Riechmann both of Carrollton; 2 sisters, Sandy Lane of Edwardsville and Donna Reichmann and her husband Jeoff Grenert of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Riechmann.
Per his request, cremation rights have been accorded.
A Graveside service will be held at 1 PM, Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Kane Cemetery with the Rev. Joel Lohr officiating and the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492 conducting full military graveside rights.
Memorials may be given to the Family in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
