Nonie “Lanie” Reed, 57, died at 8:52 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at her home in Alton. Born July 24, 1954 in Alton, she was the daughter of John and Kathlyn (Calvey) Lewis. She married Phil Reed and he survives. She also leaves to cherish her memory one of the best brothers in the world, Tim Lewis of Alton, two aunts, Mary Ann Edelen and Marjorie Kay Means both of Alton, and one very special guy in her life Shaun Allen Means – he’s my heart. She is also survived by some very special and loved friends, cousin, Lydia Woods, friends, Brenda Holman, Linda Maltimore, and Tammy Downings. Her three remaining pets, Toby boy, the Shepherd, and two cockatiels, Tilly Tooter and Pretty Boy. She was preceded in death by six uncles and two aunts, and her two pretty parrots, Yodi and Butchie Baby. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012. Father Delix Michel will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Lanie’s wish was for friends and family to come together and love each other and remember that she will always love you and God don’t like ugly.
