Nevada Leone Lay, 71, died at 3:25 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011 at her residence surrounded and cared for by her living family.She was born in Kane, Il on Oct. 14, 1939, the fourth child born to the late Everett & Emma L. (Isringhausen) Daniels. Nevada grew up in Kane, and attended Jersey Community High School.  She was employed in quality assurance with Boeing Aircraft in St. Louis, Mo., where she had dedicated 30 years of service, retiring in 1997.  Shortly after her retirement, she and her husband moved to Columbia Mo, after many years of residing in St. Charles, Mo. She devoted countless hours of volunteerism to the Ronald McDonald House of Charities, and enjoyed quilting and reading, but her true joy came from spending time with her family and her friends.She married Michael J. Lay on March 1, 1969 in St. Charles, Mo., and together the two have shared and enjoyed 42 years together.In addition to her husband, surviving are four children & their spouses, Norman D. Crum of Mt. Oroab, Ohio, Coquocia (Crum) Goodall of Zephyr Hills, Fl., Ronald W. & Bianca Crum of Wentzville, Mo., and Camilla (Lay) & Mark Gilliland of Columbia, Mo.; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Amber & Johnny Myers of St. Charles, Mo., Nick Crum of St. Charles, Mo., Alexis Crum of Mt. Vernon, Ky., Kristina & Seth Bowers of Tulsa, Ok., Kevin Crum of Wentzville, and Caden, Drew, & Kylie Gilliland all of Columbia, Mo.; three great grandchildren, Dominik, Zakary & Dylan; three sisters, Loretta Drake, Kimberly Mundy and Sharon Acree all of Jerseyville; six brothers, George Daniels of White Hall, Clifford Daniels of Jerseyville, Leo "Woody" Daniels of Alton, Richard Daniels, Raymond Daniels and Robert Daniels all of Jerseyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Camilla Waltrip, and an infant sister, JudyAnn Daniels.Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday.  Rev. Chuck Keene of the Kane Baptist Church will officiate.Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.Memorial services will be conducted later at the Parkade Baptist Church in Columbia, Mo., where she was a member and will be announced shortly.Memorials may be given to eh Lung Cancer Support Group at the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center in Columbia, Mo., in care of the funeral home.
