Nathan Settles

Nathan D. Settles, 43, died unexpectedly at 12:10 p.m., Thursday, March 16, 2023 in East Saint Louis, Illinois.He was born in Jerseyville, Illinois on December 8, 1979, one of two children born to Paul Duane and Jeannie Lee (Pence) Settles.Nathan graduated from Jersey Community High School, and was currently employed as a forklift operator for World Wide Technologies.Nathan was a computer wiz, and acquired his love for the outdoors at a very young age.  He found peace and tranquility in nature, and enjoyed spending time with his Dad hunting and fishing.    Although he hadn't acquired much in the material sense, he would give everything and anything that he had to someone who he felt needed it more than he did. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Paul and Vicky Settles of Carrollton; a sister and brother in-law, Tonya and Gary Reno of Bloomington, and their two sons, Dalton and Dax; his grandfather, Paul G. Settles of Jerseyville; and was also the father of three, Ashton, Sara and Seth.He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannie Settles; and his grandparents, Delores Settles and Roland and Flora (DeSherlia) Pence.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12 noon on Monday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.He will be laid to rest alongside his mother at Kane Cemetery.Memorials may be given to his family in care of Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Memories may be shared at www.crawfordfunerals.com.
