Nancy M.G. Corrington, 86, passed away at 4:04 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital.
She was born Nancy Marcella Grace Westbrook June 8, 1924 in Alton to W.H. Westbrook and Edna Murphy.
She married Theron S. Corrington Aug. 17, 1944 in Alton. He preceded her in death.
She worked as a shellacker for Olin Corp. and later as an attendant at Beverly Farm. She was a 50 year member of Royal Neighbors of America, Camp # 500. A Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader, she also volunteered at the Hope Center in Cottage Hills.
Surviving are two sons, Kenny Corrington of Phoenix, Ariz. and Larry Corrington and his companion Lisa "Stoney" Stone of Cottage Hills; a daughter and son-in-law, Tama and Bill Hunter of East Alton; 6 grandchildren, Cheryl Gwaltney and her husband Scott, Kendra McDougal and her husband Harley, Katherine and Nathan Hunter, and Anna, Joshua, Tammy and Kyle Corrington; 16 great grandchildren, Spencer, Michenna, Brooklynn, Maleigha, Jovi, Carson, Deacon, Jake, Braden, Kaegan, Logan, Jaden, Landon, Jenner, Brody, and Morgan; and a sister, Judith Cuno of Las Vegas, Nev.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 10 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 11 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Pastor Tom Fea will officiate.
According to her wishes, cremation will follow.
Memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church of Forest Homes.
