Nancy Lee Freeman, 68, died at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2011 at her home. Born January 12, 1943 in East Alton, she was the daughter of Edwin and Loretta (Ritchey) Doerr. She was a member of the Family of God Church in Wood River.
On March 20, 1993 in St. Louis, MO she married Harry Freeman. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Michelle Newell and her husband Danny of East Alton, Sherry Pitchford of Atlanta, GA, and Sheila Gleason and her husband Michael of Wood River, two sons, Warren Pitchford of Alton, and Brian Pitchford and his wife Kristy of Swansboro, NC, one step daughter, Krista Lee Madenis of Cottage Hills, 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edwin Doerr Jr.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Family of God Church in Wood River. Pastor Robert Smith will officiate.
Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
