Nancy Ellen Enloe, 56, died at 1:15 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2009 at her residence after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer three weeks ago. She was born in Chicago on Nov. 24, 1952, one of four children born to John O. and Marilyn "Lynn" (Marks) Louis. Nancy graduated in 1970 from Hershey High School in Palatine, and graduated from the Harper College in Schaumburg nursing program. At the age of 21, she married Glen Enloe on April 13, 1974 in Arlington Heights and together they have shared the past 35 years together. Shortly after his graduation from dental school, the two moved to Jerseyville in August of 1975. She had been employed as a surgical nurse at Jersey Community Hospital for the past 17 years, and was also a registered dental hygieniest. She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville, the PEO, and was an avid reader, who enjoyed cooking and entertaining in their home, old movies, history, traveling the world and enjoyed volunteering for various organizations in her spare time. Surviving are her husband, Dr. Glen Enloe of Jerseyville; her father, John Louis of Crystal Lake; a daughter, Vanessa Enloe at home; a son, Brett Enloe at home; a sister, Janis Klein of San Ramone, Ca.; a brother, Gary Louis of Bartlett; and her father in law, Eldred Enloe of Bluffs. She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother, Jeffrey Louis; an infant brother, Brian; and her mother in law, Audrey Enloe. Memorial visitation will be from noon on Monday until time of memorial services at 2 p.m. at the Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville. Rev. Michael Southcombe will officiate. Memorials may be given to the Jerseyville Public Library or to the Operating Room at Jersey Community Hospital in care of Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville who is in charge of the arrangements.
