Milred Violet Branch, 85, passed away at 1:30 am Tuesday June 21, 2011 at her sons home.
She was born in Carlisle, Arkansas November 18, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Jewell and Irene (Vandergrief) McNealy.
She married James R. Branch on August 13, 1944. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1985.
Mildred retired from Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Alton, IL. She enjoyed working in her yard and planting her vegetable garden.
She is survived by two children and their spouses; Mary and Wayne Self of Brighton, IL, and Scott and Deborah Branch of Meadowbrook, IL; 15 Grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; six sisters; Lavone Smith of Lexington, IN, Opal Holt of Tucson, AZ, Dorothy Hicks of St. Joseph, MI, Shirley Cunningham of Wood River, IL, Patricia Johnson of Edwardsville, IL, and Judy Halbrook of Sacremento, CA and a brother Bobby McNealy of Cottage Hills, IL; and also several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Marion McNealy; and her two daughters Linda Cavasher and Kathy Allison. .
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 June 23, 2011 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL with Rev. Matthew McNealy officiating.
Funeral service will be at 11 am Friday June 24, 2011 at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
