Mildred E. Czerny, 95, died at 10:05 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2011. She was born July 15, 1916 in Fairmont, West Virginia the daughter of the late Howard and Lavina (Davis) Motter. On December 21, 1935 in Maryland she married Alfred K. Czerny Sr. and he preceded her in death on March 25, 1995. She retired as a bookkeeper for Fischer Lumber. She was a lifetime member VFW Post 1308 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are three sons: Alfred Czerny and his wife Sandra of Brighton, IL, Howard Czerny and his wife Jean of Englewood, FL and David Czerny and his wife Ronna of Granite City. Five Grandchildren: Barbara Maloney, Kimberly Seabaugh, Chad Czerny, Jamie Czerny and David Czerny II.
Four Step-Grandchildren: Daniele Tweedy, Michele Davis, Kimberly Reynolds and Michael Kirchner. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one sister; Edith Timms. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Graveside services will be at the Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda, Florida with Pastor Tom Bryant officiating. Memorials may be made to BJC Hospice.
