Michael Terry Ferguson, 53, formerly of Alton, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 7, 2012, in a motorcycle accident, in Fairbanks, Alaska. Born June 12, 1959 in Alton, he was the son of Roy and Thelma (Stanka) Ferguson of Godfrey. He worked with his father and mother at Alton Fence and Door until he retired. He married the love of his life, Dawn Renee Myers on July 29, 1989, in Godfrey, IL. He and his wife Dawn moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 2009. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and skiing. His family states, “he was loved by family and friends, and will be missed by all.” Along with his parents, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dawn Ferguson, of Fairbanks, Alaska; son, Zachary Ferguson of Alton; brother David (Lynn) Ferguson of Bayfield, CO and their children, Jim and Jack; father-in-law, Don Myers of East Alton. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Kelly Mitteis will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
