Jerseyville |

Michael Eugene Lair, 62, passed away peacefully at 12:25 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at his home in Jerseyville.

Born on October 22, 1962, in Jerseyville, he was the son of Phillip and Mardell (Hallstead) Lair.

On October 24, 1982, he married the love of his life, Margie Henrion, in Jerseyville. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished family memories, blessed by the births of their two sons and the joy of their grandchildren brought into their lives.

Mike was a dedicated and hardworking man, employed as a Shift Miller at Ardent Mills in Alton. His work ethic and commitment were evident in everything he did, but nothing in life brought him greater pride than his family. Whether cheering for his beloved St. Louis sports teams, enjoying the sunshine on a beach vacation, or simply gathering with loved ones, Mike found joy in the simple yet meaningful moments of life.

Left to treasure his memory are his devoted wife of 42 years, Margie Lair of Jerseyville; his sons, Michael Lair II and his wife, Heather, of Jerseyville and Matthew Lair and his partner, William, of Jerseyville; four grandchildren, Kirsten Lair of Carrollton, Evan Drainer of Jerseyville, and Miranda and Kara Lair, both of Jerseyville; two sisters, Debbie Varble of Carrollton and Donna McNatt of Kane; and his mother-in-law, Mary Jane Arbogast.

He is now reunited in eternal peace with his parents, Phillip and Mardell Lair; his brother, Alan Lair; his sister, Karen Huff; and his father-in-law, Frank Henrion.
