Michael L. Schade, 57, died at 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at his residence. He was born March 17, 1954 in East St. Louis, Illinois the son of Mildred (Zedalis) Schade of Godfrey and the late Richard Schade.
He retired after 23 years as an Electrical Engineer for the Olin Corporation in East Alton and 10 years for Alton Steel Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and cooking. He was a member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. On September 2, 2005 in Edwardsville he married Laurie Daniel and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter; Moriah Meisenheimer and her husband Jim of Bunker Hill, IL and one son; Ryan Schade and his wife Agnes of Westfield, IN, one step-son; P.J. Piel of Florissant, MO. Six grandchildren: AnnaLee and Danielle Schade, Kendall and Colleen Meisenheimer, Molli and Vincent Piel.
A celebration of his life will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Steve Pohlman to officiate. Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.
