Michael Jennings, 82, passed away at 2:12 pm Sunday March 9, 2014 at home with his family by his side.
He was born on February 14, 1931in Alton, the son of George &Grace (Gunterman) Jennings.
Michael married Katherine Girard on September 7, 1957 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. She survives.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton and St. Vincent Paul Society for 40 years.
Michael graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1954 and then went to work at the Upper Alton Pharmacy, St. Joseph’s Pharmacy and retired from St. Clare’s Pharmacy.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Jennings of Alton; five children and their spouses, Diane & John Luthi of Martin, TN, Mary & Rick Sackman of Williston, ND, Michael Jennings of Chesterfield, MO, Ellen & Rob Wingert of Baltimore, MD, and Tommy Jennings of Alton; four grandchildren, Katie Jennings of Clarkson, WA, Amanda Jennings of Wood River, Katelyn Luthi of Martin, TN, and Ben Sackman of Williston, ND.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday, March 14, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Atlon.
