Michael J. "Moose" Hailstone, 77, of Gillespie, IL, died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 4:20 am. He was born April 23, 1948, in Clinton, IN to Orval D Hailstone & Margaret Hanlon Hailstone. He married Elaine (Clark) Hailstone.He was retired after having been a salesman and owner for M H Sales and Environmental Aire. Michael was a veteran of the US Air Force after having served during the Vietnam Era.He enjoyed music and played in bands since he was 14. He played in the Bill Berutti Combo, Romeo and Fat Chance. He enjoyed auto racing, the St. Louis Cardinals, his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He is survived by his spouse, Elaine Hailstone of Gillespie, IL, children, Amy (Paul) Hailstone of Nashville, TN, Stephanie (Jeff) White of Quincy, IL, Chris (Jenny) Hailstone of Gillespie, IL, grandchildren, Cameron, Sophia, Madilyn, Carson, sister, Maribeth Moore of Gillespie, IL, sister in law, Patty Tiburzi, brother in law, Don (Paula) Clark, nieces and nephews, Bradley, Craig (Michelle), Tara (Chad), and Whitney (Brad). Michael was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Hailstone.Friends may call on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie, IL from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.Funeral services are Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie, IL.
