Michael Francis Linley, 57, passed on at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born September 28, 1955 in Madison, WI, he was the son of Robert Howard Linley of Walnut, IL, and the late C. Virginia (Dodge) Linley. He was the owner/operator of Linley Distributing in Alton and a member of the Alton American Legion Post 126. Michael had an infectious laugh and always stood out in a crowd. He will be remembered as an avid golfer and baseball fan, especially for his beloved Chicago Cubs. He is survived by his loving spouse, Stacey (Alesandrini) Butler of Alton. He was a loving father to sons, Jeremy Linley (Jessica) of Godfrey, and Jonathon Linley (April) of Godfrey, daughter, Jacqueline Aholt (Paul) of Godfrey, and step daughter, Casey Butler of Belleville. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Owen, Cooper, and Isabel Linley, and Ryder Aholt, a brother, Mark Linley (Shari) of Walnut, IL, and four nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Jessica, Jeffrey, and Jordan Linley. He was preceded in death by his mother. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Upper Alton Baptist Church. Reverend Brad Donoho will officiate. Burial will be private.
