Melissa Celis

Melissa Ann Celis, 45, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, in Alton, IL. 

Melissa was born July 12, 1976, in the early morning at Wood River Township Hospital in Wood River, IL.  She is the daughter of Freda Gaskill. 

Melissa graduated from Alton High School in 1994.  She was a devout Wiccan and spiritualist.  She had an extreme connection to her Irish roots.  She also had a love and passion for hair, makeup, and nails. 

She is survived by her three children, Andrew Celis of Alton, IL, Abrianna Celis and Anabel Celis of Aurora, IL; her mother, Freda Gaskill of Alton, Il; her sister, Christine Harders of East Alton, IL; her husband, Jose Celis of Aurora, IL; her niece, Brittany Woods of Alton, IL; her grandnieces, November and Juniper Woods; and grand nephew, Tristian Woods Jr. of Alton, IL. 

Melissa was preceded in death by her niece, Lauren Harders; her father, Terri W. Gaskill; and her brother, Paul Brittain McGuiggan. 

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. 

A Service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens. 

Memorials may be given the American Heart Association
