Melba Morris

Melba J. Morris, 78, went home to be with the Lord, at 5:50 am Monday May 12, 2014 at Blessing hospital in Quincy, IL.She was born on January 17, 1936 in Alton, IL the daughter of the late Woodrow and Louise (Herbstreit) Morris.She worked for McDonald Douglas Boeing in St. Louis, MO in building 27 the Burring Department for over 30 years. She enjoyed bingo and going to church, Melba was a kind and gentle woman, never wanted to put any one out. She raised 2 children by herself as a single mother and bought her own home. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.She is survived by two Children; William Howell of Il, Vivian and her spouse John Napoli, of St. Louis, MO, three grandchildren; Kenny Patterson, Katrisha Huddleston and Aaron Haskell, five great grandchildren; Kayla, Hailey, Dalton, Brendan and Ashton, and one sister-in-law; Alice Morris of Hawaii.In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Morris and an infant son William.Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey with Pastor Robert Warren officiating.Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Homes and Crematory in Alton are in charge of arrangements.Online condolences and guest book may be found at:eliaskallalandschaaf.com
