Melba E. Hillesheim, nee Rodenmeyer, 100, of Belleville, IL, born February 10, 1925, in St. Louis, MO, died Thursday, February 27, 2025, at her residence.
Mrs. Hillesheim was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, and a member of the Ladies Sodality and enjoyed cooking for the school and Church. Melba loved to garden and spend time with “her boys”.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Donald F. Hillesheim, whom she married on April 12, 1947, and who died on December 27, 2012; a son, Mark Hillesheim; an infant son; her parents, John and Marie, nee Classen, Rodenmeyer; five sisters, Helen Schrauth, Eleanor Hartwell, Bernice Vickers, Dorothy Meinkoth, and Ruth Lloyd; her brother, Jack (Arline) Rodenmeyer; three brothers-in-law, David (Wanda), Maurice, and Jim Hillesheim; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Hillesheim.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Eric J. Hillesheim of Belleville, IL, Nancy (Rick) Wagner of Millstadt, IL, and Richard J. (Gina) Hillesheim of Highland, IL; six grandchildren, Hunter (Brooke) Hillesheim and Holden Hillesheim, Heather (Bryan) Borah, Joe Wagner (Kelsey Burrow), and Zach Schantz (Kristin Gooch) and Michaela (Lucas) Stewart; dear great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
