Maynard Leroy "Butch" Hampton, 81, of Litchfield, IL, died at St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield, IL on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 6:45 am.
He was born June 27, 1943, in Litchfield, IL to Harold Hampton & Irene Clark Hampton. He married Brenda J. Sandretto Hampton.
Maynard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired after having been a switchman for Consolidated Telephone Co. He enjoyed farming and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his spouse, Brenda Hampton of Litchfield, IL, son, Tom (Mandy) Hampton of Litchfield, IL, grandchildren, Maddy Hampton, Taylor Hampton, siblings, Richard (Gwen) Hampton of Gillespie, IL, Bill (Dini) Hampton of OH, Harold (Joanne) Hampton of Mt Olive, IL, Janet (Mike) Stockamp of GA.
Maynard was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Dorothy Wilson, Mildred Jackson, Marion Brown, Betty Davee and Linda Budd.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
