Maxine L. Hartsock, 92, passed away at 5 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
Born Apr. 6, 1919 in Pleasant Hill, Ill., she was a daughter of William McKinley and Velma (Hemphill) Jennings.
She married Wilbert Rollin Hartsock July 28, 1937 in Bowling Green, Mo. He passed away Nov. 2, 2005.
Maxine loved to cook. She also loved her grandchildren, gardening and sewing.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice Ann Couch of Alton; two sons, Robert Allen (Agnes) Hartsock and Gary Wayne (Donna) Hartsock, all of East Alton; 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Oma Jennings; and two brothers, Arvis and Avery Jennings.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 3 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m. Jason Pierce will officiate.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to Passages Hospice or the building fund at Cornerstone Church at Bethalto.
