Maurice “Bub” Joseph Connoyer

Maurice “Bub” Joseph Connoyer, 77, passed away at 3:30 am on Monday, January 23, 2012.

 

He was born on February 9, 1934 in Alton, IL, the son of Edward and Marguerite (Dwiggins) Connoyer.

He married Marian “Dickie” Zimmermann at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto on June 4, 1955.  She survives.

Bub was a bricklayer for Bricklayers Local #8 and #65 for 43 years..  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Grafton and a past member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.  He was a member of Knights of Columbus. 

He is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Ellen Connoyer Case (Kevin) of Godfrey, Mary Ann Klunk (William) of Moro, Julie Connoyer (Tim Eckels) of Springfield, IL and Christy Connoyer of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Greg Harkey, Eric Harkey and Kaleb Connoyer; a step grandchild, Theresa Mosby; three great grandchildren, Eric James Harkey, Michaela Davis and Kayla Bruhn; a brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Sandy Connoyer of Godfrey and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Edward Connoyer, his parents, two brothers, Thomas Connoyer and Dennis Connoyer, two sisters, Alice Richardson and Ann Darr and his father and mother-in-law, Dick and Ann Zimmermann.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. A rosary service will be held at 3:45 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Thursday January 26, 2012 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler and Father Patrick Gibbons officiating

Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. 

Memorials may be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace School, Bethalto or St. Patrick’s Church, Grafton.
