Maudie Bell Colley, 84, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.

  Born Aug. 10, 1928 in Grand Rivers, Ky., she was a daughter of Bradly and Bessie (Beavers) Fralix.

  She married Wesley Gordon Colley Oct. 28, 1949 in East Alton.  He passed away Jan. 9, 2005.

   For several years, she worked as a housekeeper for St. Joseph Hospital, a job she loved.  Maudie lived her last 10 months at Glenhaven Gardens.  When out of the facility, she would say, “I have to go back.  The girls are probably missing me.”

  She loved her four boys and their wives, Jim and Pam Colley, Jerry and Ellen Colley, Mike and Angela Colley, and Tim and Amy Colley, all of Bethalto; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, whom she loved very much, Lori and Jesse Fassler, Jaimee and Ed McKinnon, Ryan and Sarah Colley, Theresa and Patrick Cullen, Wesley and Dee Colley, Michael and Stephanye Colley, Rebecca and Ben Chapman, Rachael Colley, Dustin Colley and Kailee Colley; and several great grandchildren that she loved to spend time with, Conner and Jenna Fassler, Livia Belle McKinnon, Ryan Cullen, Elizabeth Colley, Caitlyn Colley, Wesley Colley, Devin Colley, Kyle Foss, Miranda and Kalynn Williams, Carter Sewell, and Kamden Nunnally.

  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23.

  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

  Memorials may be made to Glenhaven Gardens in Alton.
