Mary Kulp

Mary Mildred Kulp, 95, passed away at 10:50 am Friday, March 7, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born in Cotton Hill, MO on February 19, 1919, the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Burch) Nibert.

Mary married Robert W. Kulp on September 28, 1948 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Alton by Fr. William Croke. Robert preceded her in death on January 28, 2011.

Mary was self employed as a seamstress, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, the Alter society at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Ladies Auxillary and the VFW Post 1308. Mary enjoyed traveling and socializing in her organization’s with her friends. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

She is survived by two children; Lucia Hussain of Ballwin, MO and a son; Mark Kulp of Springfield, MO, six grandchildren; Sgt Blaise, Amie Smouse Kulp, Tristesse Kulp Carrico & Ryan Carrico, Hannah Kulp, Sara Hussain, Javad Hussain and Zainab Hussain, two great grandchildren; Colton Kulp and Rafael Hussain.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother; Ray Nibert.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 am, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.

Mass will be at 10 am, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. John Luong, OMV as celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton, IL.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Charity of One’s Choice.
