Mary Lucile Vaughn, 70, of Bunker Hill, IL, died at Eunice Smith Nursing Home, Alton, IL on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 6:55 pm. She was born August 25, 1943, in Alton, IL to Dr. George Hess & H. Lucile (Gehring). She married William E. Vaughn on September 26, 1964 at the Berean Baptist Church in Bunker Hill, IL. Mary was a 1964 graduate of Alton Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was an RN and a homemaker. Mary was a member of the Berean Baptist Church.

She is survived by her spouse, William “Bill” Vaughn of Bunker Hill, IL, 2 daughters, Carol (Craig) Franklin of Bunker Hill, IL, Judy (Rodney) Thompson of Brighton, IL, a son, Mark (Jennifer) Vaughn of Bunker Hill, IL, grandchildren, Megan (Wesley) Edwards of Godfrey, IL, Eric Franklin of Bunker Hill, IL, Philip Franklin of Bunker Hill, IL, Matthew Franklin of Bunker Hill, IL, Brian Thompson of Brighton, IL, Steven Thompson of Brighton, IL, Allen Thompson of Brighton, IL, Aaron Thompson of Brighton, IL, Nathan Thompson of Brighton, IL, Michael Vaughn of Bunker Hill, IL, Katherine Vaughn of Bunker Hill, IL, Jeffrey Vaughn of Bunker Hill, IL, Timothy Vaughn of Bunker Hill, IL, Kristen Vaughn of Bunker Hill, IL, brother, George (Marcia) Hess of Urbana, IL, sister, Jane (Douglas) Lightly of Peoria, IL.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Berean Baptist Church Bunker Hill from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services are Friday, February 21, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Berean Baptist Church in Bunker Hill, IL with Rev. Dennis Pycraft officiating. Burial will be at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Bunker Hill, IL.
