Mary Landre

Mary E. Landre, 93, of Alton, IL was called home by Jesus on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 4:30 p.m.; while recovering from a fall that occurred at home in March, 2009. She was born July 26, 1916 in Alton, to Stella (Krug) and George Landre. They both precede her in death. She worked for the Kroger Company for over 35 years and retired in 1981. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Landre of Staunton, IL, four nephews and three nieces: George and Betty Landre of Cape Girardeau, MO, Thomas and Connie Landre of Mount Olive, IL, Michael and Joyce Landre of Fosterberg, Il, Lloyd and Jackie Marshall of Alton, Il, Mary Kathleen and George Kahl of Shipman, IL, Linda (Landre) Craver of Alton, IL and Carol (Marshall) and Jeffrey Wiltshire of Godfrey, IL, She is also survived by several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by all of her brothers and sisters. There were 4 younger siblings that died during early infancy and childhood. Two adult brothers; Francis and Louis Landre, and a sister; Margaret Ann (Landre) Marshall. Visitation will be Monday, October 26, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home where services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday with Father Delix Michel to officiate. Burial will be at Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton, IL or the 5 A's animal shelter.
