Mary Wadlow

Mary Ann (Medford) Wadlow, 64, died unexpectedly at 8:40 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born in Alton, Illinois on July 8, 1957, and was the daughter of the late George Leroy and Marilyn Elizabeth (Cunningham) Medford.

Mary Ann graduated in 1975 from Alton Senior High School in Alton, Illinois, and was self-employed for many years, meticulously cleaning numerous area establishments, including Godfrey Town Hall, First Assembly of God in Jerseyville, and Loy, Miller and Talley in Alton.

Wherever Mary Ann worked or went, she made instant friends.  She enjoyed being around others, making them happy, and putting a smile on their face.  She was very active in the Otter Creek Historical Society and Hamilton Primary School both in Otterville and never passed up an opportunity to travel, with some of her favorite destinations being Branson, Mo., Florida, and Las Vegas, Nv.

She married Stanley Wadlow on August 13, 1977 in Jerseyville, and together they shared 37 years of marriage before his sudden death on November 28, 2014.
Surviving are four brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Dottye Cunningham of Jerseyville, Eldon Medford and Alan and Diana Medford all of Godfrey, Brian Medford of Albuquerque, NM; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Stephens of Bethalto, Barbara and Charles Schuster of Sorento, and Diane and Robert Herring of Alton; and a special cousin, Cindy Stamper of Jerseyville.

Although Mary Ann did not have children of her own, she was incredibly blessed to have loved, and been loved, by her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Bruns.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. Thursday until time of funeral services at 10 a.m. at First Assembly of God in Jerseyville.   Rev. Adam Smith will officiate.
She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials may be given to either St. Louis Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
