Mary A. Holloway, age 97, of Godfrey, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Rosewood Care Center in Godfrey.
She was born December 5, 1916, in Alton, the daughter of William and Anna (Graul) Miller. She married Charles M. Holloway and he preceded her in death. Mary was a member of St. Matthew’s and then St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She was a member of of the Eagles Auxiliary in Alton, where she worked on weekends for many years before finally retiring at the age of 80. Bowling was an activity she enjoyed, along with bingo and bunco.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sally and Stanley Jacobs of Godfrey, and Jeanetta Stamps of FL; six grandchildren, Michael Jacobs, Derrick (Mary) Jacobs, Angela (Craig) Peters, Vickie Dellario, Denise (Michael) Fitzsimmons, and Charlene (Richard) Babb; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; two sisters; five brothers; and a son-in-law, Alfred Stamps.
No services will be held. Cremation rites were accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
