Marvin Haworth, age 81, passed away at 1:45 pm, Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Alton Rehab and Nursing with his family by his side.
He was born on February 19, 1930 in Georgetown, IL to Charles R. and Lula F. (Lewis) Haworth.
Marvin married Juanita E. O’Neal on September 9, 1950 in East Alton, and she survives.
He worked for 33 years at Owens Illinois in the flow department until he retired in 1983. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and metal detecting, as well as spending time with his family and friends.
Marvin is survived by his wife; daughter, Susan Coatney of Alton; two sons and a daughter in law, Richard & Darla Haworth of Godfrey, and Jonn and Marge Haworth of Wood River; one brother and sister in law Carl Norman and Benny Haworth of Bethalto; 8 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Raymond “Bud” & Ruth Haworth; son-in-law, John Coatney; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Hilda & Gene Borchers and a brother-in-law, Wm Mackel.
Memorial visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday October 2, 2011 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton IL.
