Martha J. Kelly, 87, died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Alton Rehabilitation Center. Born June 13, 1924 in Ridgeway, IL, she was the daughter of Otis and Emily (Moye) Smith. She retired as manager of the cafeteria at Horace Mann School and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. On October 19, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, MO, she married W. T. “Dee” Kelly. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2009. Surviving is a daughter, Peggy Wonnacott and husband Skip of Alton, two sons, Rick Kelly and wife Dot of Bethalto, and Gary Kelly of Alton, six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Robert, Mike, Brian, Christie and Craig, five great grandchildren, Katelyn, Rachel, Gwendolyn, Aubrey, and Seth, and one sister, Lydia Oxford of Shawneetown, IL and a sister-in-law, Lucille Kelly of Bethalto. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy Helen Kelly, a daughter-in-law, Loretta Kelly, three grandchildren, Chad, Denise and Kelly, and numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Rick Patrick will officiate.
