Mark Steven Lucas, 74, of Alton, Illinois passed away at his home on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
He was born August 10, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Delbert Terry and Leta Mae (Robison) Lucas.
He married Anne (Vasiloff) Lucas on December 24, 1978, in St. Louis, Missouri and she survives.
He proudly served his country with the United States Navy. He had a love for antiques and primitive treasures and enjoyed his years of owning and operating an antique shop. Mark had also worked with insurance sales and as an executive driver with Fru-Con corporation. He also had served as the grounds superintendent at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon for many years. He cherished his dogs throughout the years and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a longtime member of St. Cyril and Methody Orthodox Church in Granite City.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rosa Lee Stufflebean of Carlinville; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Vasil Lucas of Alton; three grandchildren, Cruz Chavez Dixon, Jeffrey E. Stufflebean Jr. and Lucas D. Terry Stufflebean; three great grandchildren, Annaliese Rose Dixon, Lance Chavez Dixon and Myra Ann Stufflebean; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Murphe Sky Dixon and two siblings, Terry Lee Lucas and Michael D. Lucas.
In celebration of his life, a graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, with Fr. Nicholas Finley officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Cyril and Methody Orthodox Church or to the American Heart Association.
