Mark Joseph Burgess, 58, died at 8:20 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021 at his home. He was born August 18, 1962 in Newfoundland, Canada the son of Phillip J. and Lilliam (Bouzan) Burgess.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a mechanic for many years with Erb Equipment. On April 12, 1985 in Virginia Beach, VA he married Sandra Hayes and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Carrie Bennett (Ryan) of Iowa and Brian Burgess of Jerseyville, one brother, Phillip Burgess (Sheri) of Bremerton, Washington and one sister, Laura Franklin of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip J. Burgess.
A private memorial service will be held at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
