Mark Albert Golike, 72, of Piasa, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 5, 1951, in Alton, the son of the late Albert and Nina (Jones) Golike.
Mark married Becki Thaxton on November 8, 1974, in Piasa. She survives.
He served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Mark was a lifelong farmer and ran Classic Carriage Company with his family for over 35 years. He and Becki enjoyed collecting Minneapolis Moline Tractors, camping and traveling. They always loved watching their children and grandchildren’ sporting events and spending time as a family.
Mark was a devoted member of Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Becki; two daughters Leanne (Kenny) Jamison of Bethalto and Jill (Jason) Darr of Shipman; seven grandchildren Kenlea, Garrett and Emmalee Jamison, Rocky, Gracie, Alex and Hailey Darr; two sisters Paula (Alan) Wahl and Deb Grothaus; brother Scott (Marci) Golike.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law Rick Grothaus.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton.
Burial will follow at Miles Station Cemetery.
