Mark Duane Holt, 31, died at 4:25 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016 at his home. Born August 13, 1985 in Belleville, he was the son of Donnie Smith of Bunker Hill and Pamela K. Smith of Brighton. Mark loved music, gaming, and knew quite a bit about computers. He loved spending time with his son Wesley James Holt. Along with his parents and son he is survived by a special friend and mother of Wesley, Christa Lattimore, grandparents, Larry and Cindy (Deeder) Holt, two brothers, Mike Smith of Brighton, and James (Tara) Smith of Summerville, SC, two sisters, Kayla (Mark) Holmes of Benld, and Emma Smith of Brighton. Also surviving are his great grandfather John James Holt of Godfrey and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Billie J. and Ruth Evelyn Wooten, Emma K. Holt, two uncles, Jim Holt and Dean Oehler and a nephew, Landen Ryan Holmes. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton followed by funeral services at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016.
