Marjorie E. Panzier, 82, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at St. Louis University Hospital.
She was born on November 18, 1942, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Elgin and Mildred (Tucker) Leggett. She married David "Ray" Panzier in Meadowbrook on September 18, 1963. He survives after 61 wonderful years of marriage.
Marjorie began her career at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton as a nurse, then went on to work at the Glassworks Company in Alton, and finally taking on the role as a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. A few things that Marjorie enjoyed included fishing, bowling, wood working, and spending time with her family and friends.
Along with her husband, Ray, she is survived by her children, David (Christina) Panzier, II of Moro, and Terrie Mitchell of Glen Carbon; a brother, Russell (Aileen) Leggett of Alton; grandchildren, Lucas Edwards, Amanda Edwards, David Ray Jordan Panzier, III, and Tristan Panzier; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Harlow, and Hazel; and two nephews, Rodney Leggett of Plainview, and Robert Leggett of Medora.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., in the chapel at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Burial will follow.
