Marilyn Bost

Marilyn Sue Bost, 64, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:50 am Thursday, October 7, 2010 at her home with her loving family by her side, under the care of BJC Hospice.  She fought a strong and courageous battle for the past two years.


She was born on August 8, 1946 in Lawrenceville, IL, the daughter of John Andrew and Mary Ellen (Howe) McNeil.


She married Howard Eugene Bost on June 19, 1964 in Wood River, IL.  He survives. 
 

Marilyn worked for the Bethalto Police Department as a police dispatcher retiring in 1984.  She then went to work as a loan assistant for the Bank of Edwardsville, retiring in 2007.  She was a member of Bethel General Baptist Church in Bethalto, where she worked in the children’s ministry and was in the choir.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to their ballgames. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 
 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary & Kim Bost of Bethalto and Craig & Missy Bost of Maryville; a daughter, Jennifer Ambrose of Bethalto; seven grandchildren, Tim and Matt Owens, Jordan and Sidney Bost and Andy, Michael & Kaitlyn Ambrose; her father-in-law, Caleb Otis Bost of Wood River; her sisters-in-law and their spouses, Donna & Jerry Spencer of Wood River and Jan & John Hagman of Cove City, AR; a brother-in law, Darrell Bost of Islamorada, FL and a very special friend, Mary Ruth Wilson of Wood River . 


She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna Narup. 
 

Visitation will be at 2 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Monday, October 11, 2010 at Bethel General Baptist Church in Bethalto with Rev. Pat Heston and Rev. Phil Warren officiating.


Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. 


Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
