Marian A. Keyser, 94, went to be with her Lord Monday, May 5, 2025.
Born Sept. 19, 1930 in Alton, she was the daughter of John and Anna Ritter.
Marian graduated in 1948 from Wood River High School. She worked for Skaggs’ Restaurant in Wood River, Germania Savings & Loan in Alton, and she retired from J.C. Penney after over 30 years of service. She loved her Lord and also enjoyed crafts, including making beautiful wreaths for family and friends. Marian was an excellent seamstress that loved to sew and made clothes for her family and friends in her earlier years. She loved spending time with her family, particularly her great-grandkids & a few close friends. She was kind, generous & had a good sense of humor.
She married Jerry Ott and shared four children with him: J. David (Gary) Ott of Dade City, FL, Cathy (Dennis) Smith of Wood River, Tracey Ott and Kelley Ott, both of whom preceded her in death. She later married the love of her life, Paul E. Keyser in June of 1964 and they had a daughter, Paula (Robert) Fritts of Bethalto. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Samantha (Brian) Burke, Sabrina (Ian) Breden, Joshua (Erika) Ott, Sarah Ott, Natalie (Cody) Best, and Chelsea (Jake) Cox; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and two sons, she was preceded in death by her husbands and a brother, Bob Ritter.
Memorial visitation will be Tuesday, May 13 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 3 p.m. until services begin at 5 p.m.
