Margaret Mary Cronin, 89, passed away at 11:15 am on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on May 11, 1922 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Maurice and Margaret (Malone) O’Neill.
She married Robert “Bob” Cronin on January 13, 1945 in St. Louis, MO. He survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Peggy and Nick Barr of St. Charles, MO, Marie Green of Creve Coeur, MO, Bridget and Greg Hug of Jefferson City, MO, Colleen and Dan Duke of Moro, IL, Kevin and Terry Cronin of Herndon, VA and Mary and Scott Moelling of Moro, IL; a daughter-in-law, Marlene Heckman of Webster Groves, MO; fifteen grandchildren and their spouses, Christian Barr, Maura and Travis Lumley, Michael and Mary Green, Andy Green, Katie Hug, Bryan Hug, Erin Hug, Mary and Steve Lange, Molly and Jon Figgemeier, Bridget Duke, Gina and Aaron Walford, Maggie Duke, Kevin Cronin, Mary Cronin and Tim Cronin; five great grandchildren; Hanna and Emma Lange, Jack and Lily Figgemeier and Caitlyn Green and her nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert Cronin, a brother, Maurice “Tom” O’Neill and a sister, Marie Miller.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 11 am until a funeral Mass at 1 pm on Friday, March 9, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Father Jim Walther, O.M.V. as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
