Margaret Elizabeth Wooff, 86, died at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. Born June 9, 1924 in Alton, she was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Courtney) Wright. She was a member of the Greater Alton Church in Rosewood Heights and retired from the housekeeping department at the Highway House.
She married Leo Wooff in Alton in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1966. Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Boomer of Godfrey, Debbie Oettle and husband Mike of Alton and Nancy Root and husband Richard of Godfrey, three sons, Leo Wooff Jr. and wife Penny of Cottage Hills, Gary Wooff and wife Carol of Alton and Jeff Wooff and his fiancé Tina Godfrey of Alton, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor Tim Gill will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Rosewood Care Center Nursing Department.
