Margaret Edith Garrett, 70, passed away at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on September 24, 1951, in St Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Charles Seymour and Delores May (Breeding) Keener.
Margaret married Robert Steven Garrett in the Spring of 1968 and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2008.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and playing games on her phone.
Margaret is survived by two daughters, Stephany Lillard of Godfrey and Nichole Cantrell of St. Louis, MO; two granddaughters, Jessica (Nick Hafezi) Lillard and Kaley Lillard; five grandsons, David F. Cantrell III, Devin Cantrell, Drew Cantrell, Kevin Lillard, Dominick Cantrell; two great-grandsons, Carter Cantrell and Madden Hafezi; two great-granddaughters, Demi Hafezi, and Kennadee Cantrell; a sister, Karen Keener along with many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Garrett; a grandson, Jacob Lillard, and three brothers, John Keener, Albert Keener, and Michael Keener.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. Pastor Brian McCutchen will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to Senior Services Plus and Muscular Dystrophy.
